Noosa’s hidden gems: from barber shops to jewellery stores, and more!

Mention Noosa on the Sunshine Coast and you’ll most likely picture crystal clear water, pristine national park and bustling Hastings Street. But — there is a side to Noosa that you might not have yet discovered.

At first glance, it might not seem like much to look at, but there are a few hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.

Captain Sip Sop’s Barber Shop and Outfitters is a boutique lifestyle barber. It’s also the home of Thomas Surfboards.

“We really wanted to roll everything that we like to do into the one store, basically,” said Malakai, who’s one-third of the Sip Sop’s team. “I guess we always thought if we like it and all our mates like it, then shouldn’t we create a space where everyone can come and enjoy it in one spot?”

Just around the corner is Susan Ewington’s bespoke jewellery store. Susan specialises in handcrafted jewellery, including unique engagement and wedding rings.

It seems crafty people have found their way into this cool industrial area. You’ll find Land and Sea Craft Brewery on Venture Avenue. The brewery has recently welcomed a new addition, Fortune Distillery.

“We needed to be in an industrial setting and this sort of section of the industrial estate is obviously quite close to the main part of Noosa,” owner Tim Crabtree explained. “We wanted to make it a destination, as well, where people could come from there to here and see the production in person.”

There is also an on-site restaurant, so you can pair your drink of choice with a delicious meal. And here’s a tip – they offer a FREE courtesy bus from 4pm on weekdays and 12pm on weekends.

With so much to explore in the area, we’d recommend making a stay of your trip to Noosa. As the name suggests, On the Beach Noosa Resort sits right on the water. Their newly renovated rooms are the perfect spot to while away the day, with a G&T in hand!
