The Blackall Range is close to Brisbane and is the perfect spot for a day drive or weekend getaway. There are many attractions to enjoy, including the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and Flame Hill Vineyard.
The three villages on the range are also popular stops. They are Montville, Maleny and Mapleton. Mapleton is home to charming country stores and eateries, like Rosy Robins Café. It offers home-cooked comfort food, milkshakes and local coffee, plus terrific views over the Sunshine Coast.
Another addition to the area is the nearby Mapleton Springs B&B, which opened in May 2018. It offers three beautiful private rooms that are separate from the main residence.
They’re self contained and boast views of the range and a skylight to admire the stars at night. Other nice touches include a cinema room, sauna and spa.
Your hosts whilst at Mapleton Springs B&B are Phil and Rachel, who have been volunteers with the Wildlife Volunteers Association for two years.
Under their supervision, guests can sometimes interact and assist with animals, including possums, kangaroos and wallabies.
