Thanks to a world-first partnership between Griffith University and the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, clever minds from campus – including students, graduates and staff – are doing their bit to help make these the greatest Games ever.
Janet Turner is a 23-year-old graphic design graduate who won the honour of creating one of the most visible symbols of the Games – the official emblem for the Games Village. The vibrant design reflects the 6 residential zones of the village and 6 natural wonders of the coast and Queensland.
Janet’s just one light in a constellation of Griffith students, staff and graduates making up the Games’ hidden brains-trust.
According to Deputy Vice-Chancellor Martin Betts, around 20 percent of the people working on delivering the Comm Games are Griffith graduates.
