Dance 4 Diabetes in Australia

Diabetes is one of the world’s fastest-growing chronic conditions. In Australia alone, we have over 1.7 million people with known diagnosed diabetes. It’s estimated that every 5 minutes, 1 new person is diagnosed in Australia. These are staggering numbers and there is currently no cure for this condition. It’s clear that something has to change.

Due to the sheer numbers, Diabetes Australia has decided to launch its first-ever national fundraising campaign called, Dance 4 Diabetes. The aim of the game is to follow these four steps:

  1. DANCE: Video yourself, your mates or your family members dancing to your favourite song for about 15 – 20 seconds.
  2. DONATE: Donate much-needed funds via the website.

Alternatively, you can SMS 0437 371 371 and follow the prompts to donate.

  1. SHARE & DARE: Share your video via social media using the hashtag #dance4diabetes and dare 3 (or more!) of your friends to do the same in 24 hours!

Dancing is a great form of exercise and has a range of physical and mental benefits. This initiative gives people the opportunity to show off their funky dance moves while raising funds for vital diabetes research and support.
