Surfers Paradise will be playing host to two music festivals in May and July 2019 that are great for the whole family.
The first is Surfers Paradise Live, which takes place over the May long weekend (May 2-5). It boasts a terrific beach-side setting.
The festival will celebrate great Aussie music and feature legendary acts such as the Living End, Jebediah, Hoodoo Gurus, Daryl Braithwaite, The Screaming Jets and Chocolate Starfish. The festival will also give emerging local talent the opportunity to engage with new fans.
There will be music performances day and night and best of all, the festival is free!
From July 12-21, the Gold Coast will be going retro as it hosts VIVA Surfers Paradise! The 10-day festival will feature the world’s best tribute artists performing the biggest hits we all grew up loving.
A big element of the festival will be the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, during which 20 Elvis tribute artists will vie for the title. The winner will go to Memphis to compete in the world titles.
Another act that is sure to bring in the crowds is Killer Queen. It’s led by John Blunt, who plays Freddie Mercury. The group is Australia’s biggest Queen tribute band and plays all over the world.
The festival is free–although if you want to pay for a premium experience, ticketed seats are available.
Information on both festivals can be found here.
