QLD Garden Expo

The Queensland Garden Expo is the largest sub-tropical garden expo in Australia, welcoming over forty thousand visitors across three jam packed days. The event is held at the Nambour Showgrounds from Friday 13th July through to Sunday 15th July.

Visitors can buy plants from around 55 different nurseries, as well as purchase products from over 360 exhibitors that are represented throughout the expo.

Peter Heaton owns Heaton’s Fern Nursery. The nursery has been selling their Ferns and Anthuriums since the very first expo, 34 years ago. One of the main reasons Peter returns to the event each year is because it’s a chance to share their knowledge and expertise, in the hope that visitors will have enough confidence to grow their own thriving plants!

As well as converting brown thumbs to green, there are a number of free lectures, a Plant Clinic where you can have all your plant dilemmas diagnosed, and a Giant Kitchen Garden. This event favourite is a display of the edible plants you can grow in your own garden at home. Barbara Wickes held the first Giant Kitchen Garden back in 2005 and the display has been growing in popularity ever since!

This event is not just for the gardening gurus out there, it’s for the people who want to pick up a few gardening tips, learn something new and hopefully purchase a new plant to love and look after.

Tickets are already on sale and can be purchased here.
