Pub Choir began in 2017 and was created by music lovers and good friends Astrid Jorgensen and Meg Bartholomew. They stumbled onto the great idea of starting a choir where singers could sing their hearts out and enjoy a beer at the same time.
The first Pub Choir performance attracted seventy singers and over time it has outgrown four venues. The monthly event now takes place at the Tivoli in Brisbane and tickets are a hot commodity that sell out in minutes.
It’s on once a month and each month the choir has to learn a new song in ninety minutes before the final performance later in the evening. It attracts almost a thousand people each month and it’s a great way to heave a good time and make new friends.
