Play for Purpose

Play For Purpose is Australia’s newest charity lottery where you can play for awesome prizes while supporting your favourite cause.

There are over 80 deserving charities to support. Just two of these charities include Smart Pups and Guide Dogs Queensland.

Smart Pups is a not-for-profit organization, based on the Sunshine Coast, that provides assistance dogs to children with special needs. The dogs undergo approximately 18 months of training in task-specific skills – things like picking up water bottles, shoes, taking socks off, opening fridges, closing doors, even detecting a drop in a diabetic child’s blood sugar level! These assistance dogs have a profound effect on the day-to-day lives of children and families.

Guide Dogs Queensland do a remarkable job providing services to vision impaired people. Guide Dogs also undertake training from a very young age, and are taught to walk in a straight line, go around obstacles, stop at kerbs, walk across the road in a straight line, go up and down escalators, on and off buses, trains, ferries, and to be very confident working in a number of different environments. They not only become their handler’s eyes, they become their best friends.

The training process at both Smart Pups and Guide Dogs is undertaken by committed and passionate trainers to ensure the dogs are well matched to their humans, and the wellbeing of clients is paramount.

This is, of course, an expensive process, which is why donations are always very welcome.

In the case of Play For Purpose, you have a 1 in 19 chance of winning one of over 11,000 prizes while supporting your favourite cause. 60% from every $25 ticket sold ($15) goes directly to the charity you nominate.
