Gold Coast Theme Parks

It’s school holiday time, and if the thought of going to the Gold Coast theme parks seems a little predictable, then think again… there have been some changes at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Dreamworld and Sea World that make them worth a revisit.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s newest addition is Lost Valley. The 1600 square metre aviary opened on Boxing Day 2017, and houses some unique species. Visitors can get up close with animals such as capybaras, ring-tailed lemurs, macaws, and cotton-top tamarins. The newest encounter, opening these school holidays, is hand feeding the cheeky cotton-top tamarin monkeys in their enclosure.

Dreamworld’s brand new addition is focussed on the littlies – Trolls Village. It’s a world first and will be the biggest, loudest and wildest party if you’re under the age of 10! Expect lots of sparkle and colour, and hugs aplenty from the two life size characters – Poppy and Branch. Dreamworld is also home to some young animals. The tiger cubs are now 22 weeks old, meaning they are mischievous adolescents. Visitors to Dreamworld can book a Tiger Cub Experience where you get to spend 20 minutes with the cubs.

Sea World’s newest encounter is the Seal Guardians presentation. Visitors are taken on a mission to help protect the ocean from plastic pollution. The message is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
