Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island and a jewel in Queensland’s crown. It’s 250kms north of Brisbane and is often accessed from Hervey Boat by ferry.
However, for those living around Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, there is a quicker way to get to the island. Air Fraser Island fly daily to the island from Hervey Bay and Sunshine Coast Airport.
The scenic flight offers amazing views of the island and a thrilling landing and takeoff along 75-mile beach on Fraser’s east coast.
Once on the island, Air Fraser Island has a range of tours that make exploring the island super easy.
Their ‘Fly Drive’ includes the scenic flight and then guests are given keys to a 4WD. They can then spend the day exploring before being flown back in the afternoon. It’s the best way to experience the wonders of Fraser Island, all in one day!
Another option is the ‘Fly Drive + Stay’ tour. It’s the same as the ‘Fly Drive’ tour but includes a night at Eurong Beach Resort.
The third option is the ‘Fly Bus’ tour. It includes the return scenic flight from Hervey Bay or the Sunshine Coast as well as a bus tour with ‘Fraser Explorer’. It’s a great way to enjoy the island in air conditioned comfort.
