Creative Miami

The Gold Coast is known for many great things, one of those fast becoming its creative buzz.

Miami in particular is thriving and you only need to visit the insta-famous rainbow stairs leading up to Burleigh Lookout to see the creativity is literally spilling onto the streets.

We visited three Miami businesses paving the way in innovation and setting the benchmark for creative flair.

Heartfill

Corinne Russell runs this shared creative market, born from her desire to create a community where people could come together, sell their wares, promote their products, make things with their hands and reignite that passion for creativity.

Located on the border of Miami and Burleigh Heads, there’s everything from handmade pottery and homewares to dried flower arrangements and beauty products. There are even workshops reacquainting people with the idea of making things instead of just buying.

Visitors can browse with peace of mind as it’s supporting local, small business all the while with minimal ecological footprint.

Hotel Miami

Co-founder Nick Atkins created Hotel Miami as a coworking space to support the creative community. With a photo and video studio available for hire, there’s also an arts studio once a month.

The Hotel Miami vibe ignites a creative flair unlike any other, something Nick believes to be infectious which is probably the reason why so many creative collaborations have come about in the space.

Granddad Jack’s

Inspiration comes in many different forms, and just next door to Hotel Miami, the creative focus is on distilling.

Father-son duo Dave and Luke Ridden created craft distillery Granddad Jack’s as homage to their Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Literally every corner holds a memory from days gone by from the many photos sprinkled throughout the venue, to the barbershop in the corner and even the names of the drinks.

What’s truly special about this joint though is the passion that comes from Dave and Luke when they speak of their beloved Grandfather.
