Brisbane Northside’s New Shopping Hub: Vend Market Place

This could very well be the Northside’s best-kept secret!

Vend Market Place is a giant warehouse full of treasures – where over 90 local artists and designers have set up stalls to sell their beautiful wares.

Located at 1768 Sandgate Road Virginia, it’s a creative community of small businesses for visitors to explore.

There’s everything from handmade art, clothing, furniture, homewares, vintage décor, baby & kids products, plants and a few eclectic finds, like a shop dedicated purely to pugs.

Some of the popular stores that we checked out are Chris Riley Art, The Redcliffe Pottery Group and Peek a Bee baby goods.

With so many stores under one roof, you can spend hours browsing and then get your caffeine fix at the onsite café.

Vend Café is open from 7 am – 3 pm 7 days a week and serves all-day breakfast, lunch and mains, kids meals, coffee, tea, fresh smoothies, as well as beer and wine. There’s also a kid’s play area which makes it really family friendly.

The Greenhouse is a huge, fabulous indoor plant oasis that also acts as a function space. The ‘Secret Garden’ function space seats 20 people and can be hired out per hour, for high tea packages, or they can create a perfect package for you.

Vend hosts regular workshops with the local artists and you can check out the upcoming workshops here.

“For people that haven’t visited, well, you’re missing out. The Friday night markets as well, we’re down here every Friday getting dinner. It’s a real social hub as well and there’s a lovely community feel here, so get down here.” says Peek a Bee Owner Pippa.

Vend’s Friday Night markets are proving to be popular with locals and they run events throughout the year like food truck festivals, dog days, live music events, outdoor pop-ups and produce stalls.

It’s certainly much more than a market place, it’s a social hub for all of the community.

“What we’ve created here at Vend is a place for everyone. Families, friends can come and catch up. Something to bring the community together not only for small businesses but for local families and friends as well.” says Vend owner Amy.
