A day on the Gold Coast with Hit 90.9’s Those Two Girls

Best friends Lise Carlaw and Sarah Wills are the most recent additions to the Hit 90.9 brekkie crew.

The girls met through mutual friends a few years ago and have been inseparable ever since, forming MC duo Those Two Girls shortly after.

We sat down with them to get the latest goss on how they’re juggling their new roles at Hit 90.9 with busy mum life.

You’re living pretty crazy lives right now… how are you juggling it all?

S: So we have a national early breakfast show that goes from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. around the country, and then we have the Hit 90.9 breakfast show that goes from 6 til 9 here on the Gold Coast. It’s busy…

We each have two kids and they’re at ages where they’re very adaptable and they think it’s kind of cool.

L: That’s the thing, Sarah and I are basically in the exact same stage of life. I think it would be very difficult if say, I didn’t have children. So we understand each other.

So the family are in Brissie. How are you splitting the time between the coast and Brisbane?

S: We’re doing the commute; we’re staying overnight wherever possible.

L: Just say the truth… we live together.

S: Somehow at the age of 38 and 39, we’ve found ourselves in a share-house situation.

What do you love about the Gold Coast?

S: I think the interesting thing about the Gold Coast is that there’s something for everybody. I’m as white as a ghost; I’m not really a natural beach person. I’m confident in saying that but there’s the hinterland, there are the creeks, there are wineries, there is just so much more than white sand and those beautiful blue beaches outside.

L: I like the beach. I do. And I think nobody takes themselves too seriously and that works really well with us. I think the community vibe…everyone kind of knows someone somewhere. Yeah and it’s just like, we’re so lucky to be here. You know, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast it’s just like, we get the best of both worlds.

Tune in to Lise, Sarah, Dan and Ben every weekday on Hit 90.9 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
