New Brisbane restaurants to try in 2019

Brisbane’s restaurant scene is buzzing!  With a never-ending succession of restaurant openings, there’s something new for diners of all persuasions in autumn 2019.

One Fish Two Fish

One Fish Two Fish is a fresh-off-the-boat take on a local restaurant which is a little bit fancy… and entirely delicious. The Kangaroo Point venue is flexible enough to provide a spot for feeding the family midweek, and drinking like a fish on the weekend! With everything from classic fish and chips, an Amalfi-inspired seafood risotto and a whole salt-baked fish of the day, One Fish Two Fish is built on joyful interactions with food and booze.

Hello Gorgeous

Hello Gorgeous has set up shop on Chester Street in the old Chester Street Bakery. Dressed to impress with an irresistible menu, handpicked wine list, stunning decor, and sprawling deck ready to share with friends, Hello Gorgeous opened its doors in February. Owned by Justinn De Beer, Hello Gorgeous is Newstead’s latest multi-level bar for after-work drinks, lively evenings and lazy afternoons. Described as “Palm Springs meets Byron Bay,” the restaurant focuses on cocktails that are small on alcohol, but big on taste.

Goldfinch has opened its doors, spread its wings, and brought a breath of fresh air to Brisbane’s CBD. A one-stop shop for early morning coffee and food on the go, fresh and healthy cafe lunches, long dinners and cocktails, Goldfinch is a restaurant and cafe that’ll make diners wish they could stay longer in its sophisticated surroundings. It’s also making a bold claim you’ll have to test for yourself, offering “the best” coffee in Brisbane.
