Brisbane’s foodie landscape is replete with up and coming individuals who have turned their own culinary dreams into delicious realities. There’s also a number of foodie families that intertwine to create the fabric of the city’s culinary identity.
The Defiant Duck, The Apo, Hatch and Co, Laruche and Gerard’s Bistro all came from the brains of the Moubarak family.
This clan of culinary kings and queens have leant their touch to a variety of spaces in and around Fortitude Valley. The newest being The Apo in Brisbane’s hip, hidden away hangout, Bakery Lane.
Gerard’s Bistro in James street, is one of Brisbane’s most well-loved establishments, and it’s where the matriarch of the family, Sally, still makes all the flatbread. A family recipe for the ages!
