Where to find the best coffee in the City of Logan

Ahhh coffee! For many of us, it’s the kick-start to a good day, and the City of Logan has many businesses devoted to enthusiasts of good-quality espresso.

Simply Beans at Underwood serves fresh coffees in its aroma-filled café, and owner Joe holds cupping classes for would-be aficionados who want to unlock the flavours of his various roasts. He also offers courses that allow home baristas to bring in their espresso machines for instructions on the finer points of making a good coffee. Creating the perfect crema on top keeps the aromatics and the flavours locked in.

Extraction Artisan Coffee is a very cool roastery café on the Pacific Highway at Slacks Creek. The menu is superb, but coffee is at the heart of the business. Good quality green beans are roasted to a specialty grade here.

Owners Alex Milosevic and Heather Scott have a cutting-edge coffee machine that is a work of art. The Aremde Nexus One is built in Southeast Queensland, and it recently won an innovation award at the World Coffee Expo.

Finally, St Cocos Café is tucked away in a buzzing nook in Daisy Hill. It’s the creation of sisters Amber and Cynamon Norris, and it’s become a second home for local lovers of good coffee, and tasty eats. Family-friendly is a very accurate description of this fun and funky café, and dogs are also welcome. The sisters had their coffee supplier create a specialty St CoCos Café blend that is one of their strong points.

They say that residents of the City of Logan genuinely love supporting local business and the loyalty they enjoy is second to none.
