Channel 7’s Gold Coast News operation, presented by veteran newsreader Rod Young, is celebrating its first anniversary.
Rod’s family came to the Gold Coast in 1954. Growing up, he never imagined that one day he’d present a Seven News bulletin from the heart of Surfers Paradise.
More than half a million people now live on the Gold Coast. It’s Queensland’s second largest city and one of the most populated areas in Australia.
Next year’s Commonwealth Games will shine a spotlight on the ‘glitter strip’, so 2018 is sure to be a busy time for Rod and the 7 Gold Coast News team.
