Like many, Tamsyn Lewis is part of a busy family so going on holidays is often put in the ‘too hard basket’. Her solution is a day drive – a really great way to get the kids out of the house!
Springbrook is located roughly 45 minutes inland from the Gold Coast and it’s Heritage Listed National Park is a nature lover’s dream with endless walking trails to choose from.
You’ll be needing energy first though, and Greenwood Farm on Springbrook Road has plenty to choose from. The farm gate offers home made baked goods, condiments, honey, soaps and other beauty products all hand-made by Angi Fullwood.
She and husband Paul run the farm and offer beekeeping lessons, cooking classes and even private dining sessions from their beautiful dining room, with views that are second to none.
Fuelled up, it’s hike time and Springbrook National Park’s trails are bountiful with waterfalls, creeks, great Antarctic Beech Trees and of course stunning lookouts.
After a hike, more sustenance is of course in order and there’s one Springbrook local that will promise to be a hit with the kids… (big kids too).
The Fudge Shop is a family owned and run hot spot of the mountain, and with over 43 flavours to choose from, it’s not hard to understand why.
From Hokey Pokey to Tim Tam, Rainbow to Bubblegum and everything in between, there’s sure to be a flavor for every member of the family.
And if that wasn’t enough to entice with kids, there’s a gorgeous little fairy garden outside with plenty of magical little sights to see.
