For many people ‘art is therapy’, and for local artist Tim Sharp, these words ring true. When Tim was only 3, he was diagnosed with autism. His mother was told by doctors that he would never speak, learn or go to school. Defying all odds, Tim not only learnt how to speak, he began to express himself through art.
When he was 11, he created a colourful superhero who goes by the name of Laser Beak Man. Tim’s art has been featured in exhibitions across Australia and the world. It was turned into an animation series that aired across Australia, New Zealand and Asia…and now, Laser Beak Man is stepping into the stage’s spotlight.
Brisbane based Production House, Dead Puppet Society are bringing to life the story of Laser Beak Man in a unique theatre production. The characters will come to life as hand crafted puppets in this world premiere performance.
