Junior Keeper for a Day

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary offers children of various ages a warts-and-all experience of being a
wildlife keeper.

The school holiday activity called “Junior Keeper for a Day” includes a special tour of the Fig Tree Pocket property with up-close encounters with a range of native Australian animals.

The children are also encouraged to get hands on, by preparing food for platypus, emus and kangaroos, then cleaning up the inevitable mess that follows feeding time.

Opportunities for these wildlife encounters are limited, so bookings should be made well in advance. The sanctuary’s koala.net website is a good starting point for information.
