It’s no surprise Gold Coast folk are usually drawn to the buzz of the beachside, but just ten short minutes inland, you’ll find the green behind the gold at Ground Currumbin – a health and wellbeing hub that combines a local produce market, healing centre and café. And not only is it a sanctuary for parents, but it’s also home to weekly story time and craft sessions for the little ones.
Tatiana, from The Little Store, volunteers her time every Wednesday to run these sessions. Kids get to create and play together for around 60 minutes while parents have time to connect with one another and relax, or indulge in good food at Pasture & Co. next door.
Pasture & Co. intentionally blurs the lines between breakfast, brunch and lunch, offering a harmoniously balanced menu for all tastes! Think plant-based dishes free from dairy, nuts and eggs, or more carnivorous options, where you can order a house hot dog with spicy sausage, sauerkraut, pickle and cheese on a brioche baguette before it’s even 7 a.m… Hey, we’re not judging! You also can’t go past their delicious blue mermaid smoothie; it goes down as a real treat with the kids. And it’s even better since the produce is sourced right next door from Ground Grocer.
This hidden oasis isn’t just about the kids; parents or mums-to-be can indulge in a little R&R at the Healing Ground. Natalie is one of the seven therapists onsite to specialise in pre- and post-natal massages, making it the perfect way to end the day at Ground Currumbin.
