Kayaking on the Brunswick Heads River

Byron Bay local Kurt Tutt has always loved the water. As a kid, he was a nipper. Later, he competed in two world title ocean kayak races, finishing in the top 10.

Nowadays he runs Go Sea Kayak Tours, which operates at Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. Kurt and his team of guides explore the bay and the Brunswick River.

Guests don’t need any kayaking experience and kids as young as five years old are welcome to come along. Wet suits, life jackets, sunscreen and morning/afternoon tea are all provided.

Tours along the Brunswick River take in the indigenous history of the area, as well as all the wildlife — including birds, dolphins, turtles and rays.

Tours in Byron Bay are well-known for their close encounters with large marine wildlife, like migrating humpback whales and dolphins.
