Top 5 Gold Coast hidden cafes

We’re all aware of the fabulous range of Gold Coast cafes we can find in suburbs like Broadbeach, Burleigh and Palm Beach. But what about the ones buried in the lesser known suburbs, heading inland towards the hinterland, where else can you find that fabulous cappuccino? Check out our top five cafes from the suburbs who names aren’t always on the GC tourist guides.

  1. Mudjira Village Eatery, Mudgeeraba

Nestled in the quaint Mudgeeraba Market Shopping Centre, this gorgeous café offers alfresco dining right in the hustle and bustle of the market centre. With delicious sweet treats such as scones and muffins, and a full menu of breakfast and lunch items, there’s something for everyone. Go on a Saturday and head to the fruit and veg market afterwards for some fresh, local produce.

  1. Le Vintage, Worongary

Voted best coffee on the Gold Coast in 2017 and a favourite with the west-siders (of the M1!), this café is sure to delight. The Merlo coffee packs a punch and with a scrumptious menu and packed sweet counter, this place is always busy. You can bring your dog too. As well as the café, there’s a gorgeous selection of trinkets on offer if you need a last-minute gift or simply fancy spoiling yourself.

  1. View Café, Hinze Dam, Advancetown

Located on the edge of the Hinze Dam, this attracts many visitors who can enjoy both the views and culinary delights on offer. The café is fully licensed so why not wash down a delicious burger with a glass of something. If dessert is more your go, then there are ice creams and waffle cones aplenty. With a visitors’ information centre, huge garden and beautiful walk along the dam wall, this is a day out for all the family.

  1. Black Lime Café, Carrara

Google rates this hidden gem 4.7 out of 5, so this certainly spiked my interest. Tucked away in an unassuming parade of shops, this is certainly a lesser known Gold Coast café. However, see past that, and you’ll enjoy friendly service, a delicious coffee, generous proportions of yummy food and all at a very reasonable price. With lots of parking and a central location, it’s an easy pit-stop on your way through Carrara.

  1. Cadence Café, Nerang

This cyclists favourite offers a huge range of mouth-watering plates to enjoy at excellent prices. Sitting near the Nerang mountain bike trails and positioned next to the bike shop, this is a favourite with cyclists. However, you don’t need to be sporting Lycra to get in. The café offers hearty food and a lovely leafy outdoor setting as well as a playground for the kids.
