Tangalooma Island Awaits

An island paradise right on Brisbane’s doorstep, with activities to suit everyone and accommodation for all budgets seems too good to be true. But for years’ people have been enjoying the luxurious lifestyle a holiday or day trip to Tangalooma offers. The golden beaches and crystal clear waters have been a top spot to spend the day in the sun while exploring the famous wrecks by snorkel.

Recently added to the growing list of activities on the island are the transparent day and night kayak tours, exploring the wrecks and surrounding waters on a new kayak design that lets you discover what lies below without getting wet. The ever-popular dolphin feeding, stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling, catamaran hire and parasailing are also a crowd favourite in these pristine waters; and during the colder months, visitors are treated to the stunning display of whales migrating past the island.

The accommodation on the island ranges from hotel rooms, units, villas and self-contained apartments. For the larger crowds, holiday home rentals can also be organised with ocean views within walking distance to the beach.

Getting to Tangalooma couldn’t be easier, the 75-minute ferry leaves Brisbane daily. If you are after a more scenic route, helicopter transfers can be arranged from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
