Brisbane’s Best Picnic Spots

Now that the weather is warming up, there is no better time than ever to bust out the old picnic rug and spend an afternoon in the sunshine, taking in some of Brisbane’s best views. We are spoilt for choice in Brisbane, with an abundance of beautiful parks and outdoor spaces to choose from. Here are some of our favourite spots to spend an afternoon picnicking:

Kangaroo Point Cliffs

If you are after a picnic spot with a cracking view, you cannot go past the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. Whether you set up your picnic at the top of the cliffs, or down the bottom by the water, you are guaranteed beautiful views of the City and river.

City Botanic Gardens

Just across the river, the City Botanic Gardens are another beautiful spot for a relaxing afternoon. The beautiful lawns, plant life and bustling vibe, make it the perfect location for your next picnic.

The Wynnum/Manly Foreshore

The picnic spots along the Wynnum/Manly Esplanade are absolutely endless! Whether you want to set up by the shore on the grass, or in gazebo away from the sun, the Foreshore is the perfect place to kick back by the water and enjoy the great outdoors.

New Farm Park

New Farm Park is a popular picnic destination and with good reason. With spots by the river and in the Park, under sprawling Poinciana trees, no matter what you look for in a picnic point, you will be bound to find an area you like.

Highgate Hill Park

On the other side of Brisbane, Highgate Hill Park offers spectacular views of Mt Coot-tha, the City and around to Kangaroo Point. With views like that, why would you have your picnic anywhere else?
