Heralding from the Redlands, Sam Heazlett is a firecracker of a player for the Brisbane Heat. Known for belting sixers out of the Gabba – not just into the members area, but actually onto the roof – Sam is an unassuming 20 something Brisbanite that made his name in 2017, with a surprise call up to the Australian One Day International Team. Go you good thing!
In his spare time, Sam loves to get out and hit the surf. On Sam’s Great Day Out, we have a chat with him, find out his favourite past times and catch some waves at Burleigh. Mint.
An upbeat Burleigh cafe, located just across the highway from Burleigh Esplanade, Commune Cafe with its quirky vintage decor, serves up light meals and coffee, with an organic food focus.
Commune is surprisingly one of the most popular coffee spots in Burleigh because of its location adjacent to the busy Gold Coast Highway. But don’t let that put you off because the restored Art Deco building, once an old butcher’s shop, has been decked out with vintage furniture, posters and artwork and has a comfortable easy-going vibe that is relaxing and trendy.
Commune is a breath of fresh air, with its outdoor garden area, where customers recline on comfy couches or upon retro metal framed outdoor settings. It’s a great place to sit and relax for a while and enjoy a superb brew of coffee.
