Olympic Gold Medalist and Rugby 7’s Captain, Shannon Parry, is excited about competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. This will be the first time Australian 7’s women will be at the games, so it’s a historic event for women’s sport and women’s rugby.
Shannon is incredibly passionate about women’s rugby and loves mentoring and coaching younger players. Her Great Day Out starts with a coaching session with the Griffith University team. Shannon completed a teaching degree at Griffith, while working towards her Olympic dream.
Rugby is her life, but she is a big believer in balance. When she’s not training or playing, she likes to stay active in a social setting – a workout or run with friends at Kangaroo Point Cliffs, followed by a coffee and a few laughs is a favourite activity. Shannon grew up in Brisbane and loves spending time enjoying the beautiful river city.
