Not a footy fan?

Not a footy fan? Looking for something else to do this Wednesday night? Rustle up the team and get your own game on with these great suggestions…

1. Trivia Night – Collective Kitchen Bar
On Wednesday nights, this alfresco eatery and bar overlooking Cathedral Square in Brisbane’s CBD hosts a free trivia contest, starting at 6.30pm. You don’t need to be a genius to work out that the menu is enough reason to pop in. From 4pm-6.30pm, there are finger-licking buttermilk-fried chicken wings at just $1 each; and pizzas start from $14. Come for the food and stay for the good times.

2. Brisbane City Youth Ballet – Alice in Wonderland
This Wednesday evening, for one night only, the Brisbane City Youth Ballet brings Lewis Carroll’s classic tale to life. Lose yourself in the whimsical story of Alice’s journey through Wonderland while supporting the Brisbane City Youth Ballet, a not-for-profit organisation that brings dancing opportunities to talented Queensland youth.

3. Dinner at South Bank
While others are glued to the tube, why not head to Brisbane’s South Bank for dinner? Take your pick of street parking along Grey Street; go for a long walk through South Bank Parklands; and enjoy a night out without the usual crowds. There are plenty of restaurant options along Little Stanley Street and at the parklands’ pretty River Quay.

4. “Skating At” King George Square
Rug up and enjoy a white winter in the heart of sub-tropical Brisbane. The magic happens at King George Square where the team from “Skating At” have installed a pop-up skating rink and ice slide for tobogganing. Kids of all ages will love the frosty fun. Make a night of it and head to one of the restaurants adjacent to the square.
