In a world where rushing seems to have become a way of life, finding time to take it slow can be a welcomed relief. There are many ways people choose to spend their time out, curling up with a book, sipping on a cup of tea or learning a new craft.
We chose the latter, and found ourselves at Mas and Miek – a ceramic house in Brisbane’s suburb of Newstead. As soon as you walk into the studio, you’ll start to feel a sense of calm coming over you. The light-filled space, greenery and gentle music – what’s not to love?
The Ceramic House is owned by a creative mother daughter duo – Mieke and Charlie De Deyne. It was their dream to open up this space to get people involved in clay. There are a number of workshops on offer at the studio. If you’re just starting out then their Introduction to Throwing workshop is for you!
