Makepeace Island

Makepeace Island is an exclusive luxury island resort on the Noosa River, just a few minutes from Hastings St. It’s owned by famed billionaire Richard Branson and co-founder of Virgin Australia Brett Godfrey.

It’s recently had a major refurbishment and is now more luxurious than ever before. The island can accommodate up to 22 guests and offers rooms in its boathouse, island house as well as private villas that come with their own living room, deck, master bedroom and bathroom.

Keeping busy on the island is easy. There’s a cinema room, bar and pool room, swimming pool, giant spa, tennis court and plenty more.

Activities can be organized such as kayaking and stand up paddle boarding and activities and tours in the local area can also be arranged, such as horse riding.

A popular activity for guests is the sunset cruise aboard a 1930s replica boat. There’s plenty of wildlife to spot and seafood to enjoy.

Dining on the island is a real treat, with a team of expert chefs creating world class dishes using only the best local produce. The team also hold culinary masterclasses for guests that cover everything from making fresh pasta to French patisserie.
