South Burnett

The rich red soils of the South Burnett are perfect for growing a wide variety of products. The region is famous for its peanuts and sorghum, but a little farm just outside of Kingaroy produces the only capers in Queensland.

Alan and Mandy from Bunya Red Farm blazed a trail for the produce in the region, and now distribute capers all across the country.

The South Burnett is also home to an array of local wineries, with some of their cellar doors concealing some award winning drops.

Bernie and Judy from Crane Wines love to accompany their award winning Verdhello with an antipasto platter of local goodies, including caper from just up the road at Bunya Red Farm!

They also offer guests to their cellar door the opportunity to stay a night or two, in one of their three cozy self-contained rooms.
