Every year thousands of people converge on Noosa’s sandy shores to celebrate the town’s active lifestyle during a five-day festival of fitness and fun.
The Noosa Triathlon and Multi Sport Festival is not only Australia’s largest triathlon event – it’s the biggest in the world!
And it’s not just for die-hard fitness fanatics. The festival offers something for all ages and abilities – including fun runs; a lifestyle and fitness expo; live entertainment; professional triathlon; and the Super Kids Tri, for sporting heroes in the making.
The Super Kids Tri is open to youngsters aged 7 to 13. It involves a 200 metre swim; a 5 kilometre cycle; and 900 metre run.
The Noosa Special Triathlon gives the opportunity for athletes of all abilities to feel that sense of accomplishment.
And you don’t need to lace up the running shoes to enjoy the fun. There’s a lovely energy during the festival, making it the perfect excuse for a family holiday.
Courtney Atkinson and his family are no strangers to this part of the world. Courtney is a dual Olympian and former world champion who won the Noosa Tri 3 years in a row! He admits recent visits to Noosa have been a little more leisurely – making the most of beautiful local waterways with his family.
A self-drive BBQ boat is a perfect way to explore the Noosa River and can be rented from T-Boat Hire for a full day or half a day. The boats are kitted out with fishing gear and paddle boards – plus you can pre-order a BBQ pack from Synergy Concierge to make things super simple.
If you’d like to make the most of a holiday in beautiful Noosa, why not book your stay during the 35th Noosa Triathlon and Multi Sport Festival?
The festival is on from the 1st to the 5th of November. Visit the Tourism Noosa website to start planning your adventure.
