Cedar Glen Farmstay

The Lost World Valley is a perfect place to lose yourself for a few days.

The name of this area couldn’t be more accurate – it’s a spectacular lost world, bordering Lamington National Park, just outside Beaudesert in the Scenic Rim

For well over 100 years, Nigel Stephens’ family have been farming cattle on their slice of paradise at the foothills of the McPherson Ranges…and for the last 40-odd years, they’ve welcome guests for an authentic country experience.

Cedar Glen Farmstay is all about helping you wind down and embrace country life.

The 1880’s guest house is one of the only homesteads in its original location in the Scenic Rim. Stepping inside, is like stepping back in time. They also offer a variety of cottages to suit couples and families.

One of their most popular activities is a trail ride around the property. There aren’t many places left in Queensland where you can enjoy a horse ride, and this is a magnificent location to do it.

The trails rides are just one of the ways that guests can connect with animals and nature…they also offer cow milking, egg collecting, feeding farm animals, boomerang throwing, whip-cracking and picnics by the creek with billy tea and damper.

Nigel is passionate about giving families a taste of country life and says it’s important to get kids out of the city bubble and back to nature.

For a truly special experience in nature, Cedar Glen offers a Twilight 4WD tour. It heads up to the top of Jack’s Rocks – the highest point on the property – which offers incredible views over the whole Lost World Valley and a magical sunset.

It really is a perfect place to lose yourself for a weekend and reconnect with family and friends in nature.
