Some people call Caloundra the gem of the Sunshine Coast. It’s just over an hour from Brisbane and is famous for its laid-back atmosphere. When you arrive, you’re greeted by friendly locals and you instantly feel relaxed…however there’s certainly no shortage of things to do.
From the stunning beaches, to Pumicestone Passage – it’s paradise for water-lovers. You can windsurf, kayak, jet-ski, fish, head out on a boat or laze about on the sand. It’s a natural playground for families – with BBQ and picnic areas, patrolled beaches, and the Kings Beach pool and water park area is a crowd favourite. The Caloundra Street Fair is a popular food and lifestyle market that takes over Bulcock Street every Sunday morning. There’s also an exploding café culture, providing many ways to enjoy a taste of the Sunshine Coast while enjoying the sea breeze.
The whole town comes alive every year for the Caloundra Music Festival. It’s four epic days of sun, surf and soul over the October long weekend.
The family friendly Caloundra Music Festival features an incredible line-up including Xavier Rudd, Wolfmother, Grinspoon, Spiderbait, Ronan Keating, Baby Animals, Jon Stevens, Darryl Braithwaite, Drapht and more. You seriously have to check out the program – there’s something for everyone!
It’s a unique festival, set among the action on Kings Beach – so you can see, hear and smell the ocean while listening to a world-class act. There’s a full program of music and off-stage entertainment during the festival. Tickets are reasonably priced and the festival welcomes young and old.
It the perfect soundtrack for a weekend away in Caloundra.
